Composite veneers are a type of veneer that is made of a resin material. This material is then bonded to the front of your teeth in order to correct a wide variety of dental problems. Composite veneers can be used to correct everything from cracked teeth to misshapen teeth. In addition, composite veneers can also be used to whiten your teeth.
Porcelain or ceramic veneers are thin ceramic shells that are fabricated in a specialized dental laboratory. They are created from a mold of each patient’s teeth to ensure a perfect fit. They are durable and offer a very natural look.
It is an artistic procedure where the dentist uses any technique or treatment you need to modify the position, size, shape and color of your teeth, achieving a desired harmony and symmetry of your smile.
It is possible to use bleaching, veneers, crowns, dental implants, orthodontics, etc.
A veneer is a thin sheet of material (Porcelain or Resin) that is placed over the front surface of teeth for the purpose of improving their esthetic appearance. Veneers are used to correct a variety of dental problems, such as discolored, worn, chipped, chipped, misaligned, uneven or gapped teeth.
Anybody can get a smile design. However as we mentioned before, this is not just getting veneers, this will depend on your needs. Thus, the ideal patient for getting veneers, is the one who already finished an optimal orthodontic treatment or has an ideal occlusion and hygiene.

This will depend on the initial condition like position and tooth color. For example if a tooth is over the adjacent it will be necessary to shave that part. Other situation can be if there is one discolored tooth, we should shave it to gain more thickness to opaque the undesired color. Additionally our recommendation for porcelain veneers is to shave 0.3 mm (this is the usual thickness of porcelain veneers) in the part where the veneer will contact the gum, so we can avoid an over contour that can generate gum inflammation.
Color is up to you, composite and porcelain comes in stock colors which you can choose with the shade guide and the virtual prediction. Final color will be the sumatory of the substratum and the chosen material.
The placement of resin veneers requires only one appointment.
Porcelain veneers require two to three visits to the dentist:
At the first visit, a mold of your teeth is taken and the shade is selected.
Next, the teeth are prepared by grinding away a small layer of enamel to make room for the veneer and allow it to set properly.
Finally, the veneers are bonded with a special dental cement.
No, it is a procedure often done without any anesthesia
We guarantee all our treatments, but some basic care must be taken. For example it is known that porcelain is harder than composite. You should not bite hard things like bones, whole apples, uncover packages or hard things with your teeth with veneers, for that you can use your molars.
We use the best porcelain (e.max, Ivoclar Viva dent) and the best luting agents, to guarantee that your veneers will not fly off or break.
The gums play a very important role in the design of a smile. It will depend on what we diagnose in the office. For example, it is very important in a gummy smile. Ideally, the zenithal points should also be in harmony if you show them. See periodontics service for more information.
